Pocket Depth Reduction
When bone and gum tissue that support teeth are diminished by periodontal disease, “pockets” form around the teeth that harbor destructive bacteria.
If gum pockets become too deep to be cleaned with daily at-home hygiene and a professional care routine, a pocket reduction procedure is necessary. During this procedure, disease-causing bacteria are cleaned from the deep pockets and the gum is re-secured.
